From Vancouver to Hong Kong: Grains&Grapes tells the story of British Columbia’s terroir with a glass of wine

How many stories can a glass of craft beer carry on the bustling streets of Hong Kong? For Grains&Grapes, every drop of wine contains the mountains and seas, sunshine, and craftsmanship of British Columbia (BC).

In 2024, when founder Alexander Cheung founded Grains&Grapes in Vancouver, he carried not only a love for fine wine, but also an almost rigorous “terroir belief” – from unique yeast strains, niche hops, to the subtle smoky feel of local oak barrels, each link determines the soul of a glass of wine.

Every brewer we collaborate with must answer a question: What is your story? “Alexander said. This persistence has made Grains&Grapes the “curator” of high-quality alcoholic beverages in British Columbia, such as ale beer brewed with glacier water from the Rocky Mountains, natural wine produced from vineyards in the Okanaga Valley that receive 17 hours of sunlight, and even whiskey aged with Pacific coast winds – these flavors are “natural codes” that cannot be replicated by data.
